The Hip Hop and Health Project, H3 has been running for the past 4 years, conducted by the Multicultural Health and Support Service (MHSS), a program of the Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health. The project use a Peer Education Model and leverages the popularity of hip hop, by incorporating important public health messages with urban culture influenced dance routines, music, street theatre and original rap lyrics.
Through this combination of music artistry and dance, the H3 Project has had a far reaching impact, empowering both the participants and audiences to encourage preventative behaviours and simplify the process of appropriate community-based sexual health education.
